There is nothing like a sandal season to remind you that it is time to get a pedicure. New polish, trimmed nails and soft, smooth heels make your feet feel refreshed and sandal ready!

For some people, however, a pedicure is simply not enough to give them the callous-free heels we would all like to have. In extreme cases the skin can get so thick that it cracks, bleeds and becomes painful. Sometimes, simply removing the callous can allow these cracks to heal and prevent them from coming back.  So, in an effort to find a better, easier way to remove callous so that everyone can have beautiful feet all the time I’m going to test and review an exfoliating foot peel called Baby Foot.

My dear friend Sylvia found this product and recommend I try it. It is available on Amazon for $17-$20 with free shipping if you have Prime. My friend Margie tried it and is now a huge fan. She used to develop terrible callouses but now uses Baby Foot once a year to keep her heels soft and callous free!

According to the package Baby Foot is a combination of lactic, glycolic,  citric and salicylic acids that will gently but thoroughly remove dead skin cells and built up callous as 17 natural plant extracts deeply moisturize. The package does contain a precaution label that specifically mentions pregnancy, diabetes and allergic reactions. Because the list of plant extracts is extensive I would read the ingredients before ordering it.

I don’t have the thick, cracked heels like some of my clients, but they are a little dry with some callous. If I have good results I’ll choose a client with hideous heels to be a guinea pig and see how it works it an extreme case.

Here’s a list of things I recommend you get together for this treatment.

1- Baby Foot Exfoliating Peel Kit.

2- Something to soak your feet in. I’m using my mini pedi bath but you can use a bucket or just take a long bath first.

3- 1 or 2 Hand towels to dry your feet after the soak and after the treatment.

4- 2 Bath towels. I wasn’t sure how messy it would be so I covered my floor and furniture.

5- An old pair of socks to wear over the booties and hold the gel against your skin.

6- A scissors, or pair of scissors, however you say it, to open the booties.

7- The TV remote or a book or your tablet.

8- A drink and maybe a snack.

9- Oh, and you may want to go potty before you start! Trust me, 90 minutes is a really long time when you have to pee!

You’ll want to have them all on hand because the whole process takes about an hour and a half and it’s a little difficult to move around once the booties are on your feet.

For the first step simply soak your feet for about 15 minutes to clean and hydrate.

Next, cut open the tops of the booties, place them on your feet secure the tops using the tapes that come in the kit.

Pull the socks over the booties carefully so that the gel doesn’t ooze out.

Now, just sit and relax for an hour while the gel soaks in. This is the perfect time for me to start a new crochet project from Lion Brand, the Super Fast & Easy Throw using Homespun yarn in Sierra.

Rogue and I are just hangin’ out, while my Deebot, Hazel, vacuums the living room. This is definitely the way to clean this house!

When the hour is up, take the booties off and wash your feet thoroughly. The directions say that it could take several days to see results so I will take pictures to monitor my progress.

I didn’t really see any change as of Wednesday evening but on Thursday morning this was happening.

My heels looked super dry, my toes were actively peeling and the bottoms of my feet looked tight and shiny.

By Thursday evening both feet were really peeling so I decided to get up extra early on Friday to soak.

After soaking for about 15 minutes the dead skin was literally falling off my feet!

This is crazy!

This is the pile of dead skin that came off after I soaked. My heels and other calloused places felt kind of crumbly so I sped up the process with a foot file. Even with all the skin that came off my feet are still peeling!

It’s been exactly one week since my Babyfoot peel and I am still peeling a teensy bit but I am thrilled with the results!

The dry, white, cracked skin on my heels is gone and my feet are soooooooo soft! Bring on the sandals!!!

I’m definitely adding Babyfoot to my list of favorite pedicure products!
